The meeting was called to order by Billy Clow.

   I.            Work/Life Proposal – Donna Anderson

a.      Donna gave a presentation on the “Proposal for centralized funds to reduce the impact of family/sick leave on students and programs/departments” (handout)

b.      Letters of support were handed out

c.      Discussion/questions followed

d.      Provost Hitch suggested that a smaller group work on this.  She will put it on the agenda for a future meeting with the deans and invite Donna.

 

       II.      Chancellor Hastad presented an overview of the Governor’s budget proposal.

a.      Discussion/questions followed.

b.      The Chancellor will be working closely with his staff.  Suggestions are welcome.

c.      Planning and Budget Committee will be kept informed.

 

      III.       “University of Wisconsin System Distribution of 2005-07 Governor’s Efficiency Measures” handout was distributed by Ron Lostetter.

a.      Chart came from UW System and identifies for all campuses Procurement Savings, Asset Management, Administrative Efficiencies, and UW System’s Distribution of 2005-07 Governor’s Efficiency Measures. 

b.      Cuts will have to be identified by April 15.

 

   IV.      Provosts and CBOs met last week – Ron is chair of a subgroup that is reviewing UW System vs. Campuses.
